About

Well hello there! Glad you could make it. I think there are some things you should know about me before this goes any further. First of all, I am a perfectionist. More on that later. Second of all, I am incredibly good-looking, smart, funny, and most of all, as humble as humble pie. I also enjoy pie. BEWARE: There will probably be no pictures in this post. Don't cry, it will be okay!

If you haven't caught on yet, I like to joke around and make people laugh. Chances are if you read something on here that sounds like sarcasm, it's because it is. Don't be afraid! I am not easily offended and that often translates to me saying potentially offensive things. In a world of non-stop offensiveness, we need more fun. We need more laughter. We need the ability to laugh and be laughed at. So take a chill pill and lets do some quilting and what not.

If you were reading earlier, you  might have seen that I consider myself to be a perfectionist. I have this problem where I hate making mistakes and I am more likely to put down a project forever than either fix the mistake or live with it. It is a problem. It leads me to be excruciatingly hard on myself and that is not at all what anyone would consider "fun".

This past year I picked up bullet journaling in an effort to better organize myself, my thoughts, and my life. I have a lot going on and when I forget something important, I give my self esteem a good ole beating to put it back into the depths of hell where it belongs. As you can imagine, this isn't all that fun. Bullet Journaling, or "Bujo" as I shall more commonly refer to it, is a creative way to organize your life. I find it to be a fun artistic expression, and a great way to keep myself accountable. But I think the most important thing that I get from Bujo is the ability to let the little mistakes go.

GASP.

WHAT.

Yes that's right. If I make a mistake in my Bujo, I don't tear out the pages or throw out the whole book. I try to mend the error if I can, but if not, oh well. I write everything in pen and that means I make some mistakes. There's no Ctrl+Z in my paper journal. This part of Bujo has been so incredibly important to be and has allowed me to practice my "Fuck It" attitude when appropriate. Speaking of appropriate, that ain't me. Either you like it or you don't. I won't judge. Totally judging tho.  So what the hell does all of this have to do with quilting you ask? Well let me tell you.

I apply the same principal of "Fuck It" to quilting. If it isn't perfect, that's okay. Puckered quilt top? Crappy Points? Blocks looking fugly? Fuck it. It is just a quilt. It is not the space shuttle. Any minor imperfections are unlikely to be noticed by anyone other than YOU. My best advice I can give any quilter or bullet journaler, or artist, or anyone is to learn to let the little things go. You will feel so much better.

I'm not certain this is really a good about section, but I'm going to take a little bit of my own advice and just put it out there anyway. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy my blog!
